About this extension

HestiaCP for Paymenter

Automated hosting provisioning and account management for Paymenter

HestiaCP for Paymenter connects your Paymenter billing platform to an existing HestiaCP server. It automates the routine work involved in creating and managing web hosting accounts, while giving customers practical hosting controls directly inside the Paymenter client area.

Instead of manually creating every customer account, assigning a hosting package, adding the primary domain, and sending control-panel information, the extension handles the provisioning workflow through the HestiaCP API after the service is activated.

The extension is designed for hosting companies, agencies, resellers, and developers who already use Paymenter and HestiaCP and want a professional integration between the two systems.

WHY USE THIS EXTENSION?

Running a hosting business involves more than accepting an order. Each customer needs an account, a secure password, the correct hosting package, a primary domain, and access to their control panel. Accounts may also need to be suspended, restored, upgraded, or terminated later.

HestiaCP for Paymenter brings these operations into the Paymenter service lifecycle. This reduces repetitive administration, provides a more consistent customer experience, and keeps important account information connected to the correct Paymenter service.

AUTOMATED ACCOUNT PROVISIONING

When an eligible service is activated, the extension can automatically:

  • Generate a unique HestiaCP username
  • Generate a secure control-panel password
  • Create the customer account in HestiaCP
  • Assign the hosting package selected for the Paymenter product
  • Add the customer's primary domain
  • Store the account details against the Paymenter service
  • Make the relevant service information available in the client area

The checkout configuration requests the domain that will be used for the hosting account. The extension validates that a domain has been supplied before provisioning begins.

FLEXIBLE DOMAIN PROVISIONING

Different hosting businesses manage domains, DNS, and email in different ways. The product configuration therefore includes two provisioning modes:

  • Web domain only
  • Web, DNS, and mail

The web-domain-only option is useful when DNS or email is handled by another platform. The complete option can be used when the HestiaCP server should create the web, DNS, and mail services together.

HOSTING PACKAGE SELECTION

The extension requests the available user packages from HestiaCP and presents them inside the Paymenter product configuration. Administrators can assign the appropriate HestiaCP package to each Paymenter hosting product without manually entering package names.

This allows different Paymenter products to provision different hosting limits and packages on the same connected server.

ADMIN MANAGEMENT FEATURES

The extension supports the main service-management actions expected from a hosting integration:

  • Create hosting accounts
  • Suspend hosting accounts
  • Unsuspend hosting accounts
  • Change the assigned hosting package
  • Terminate hosting accounts
  • Test the HestiaCP API connection
  • View stored service properties in Paymenter

Suspension and restoration actions handle common HestiaCP account states safely. Termination removes the hosting account and clears the extension-specific service properties stored in Paymenter.

CLIENT AREA CONTROLS

Customers receive a clear service page inside Paymenter showing the information they need to manage their hosting account.

Depending on the service state, customers can view:

  • Control-panel username
  • Primary domain
  • Current hosting package
  • Control-panel password
  • Control-panel URL
  • SSL status

The client area also includes practical account actions:

  • Open Control Panel
  • Generate New Password
  • Install SSL

This gives customers direct access to common hosting tasks without requiring an administrator to handle every request manually.

PASSWORD MANAGEMENT

Customers can generate a new control-panel password from their Paymenter service page. The extension creates a new secure password, sends the change to HestiaCP, and updates the stored service property in Paymenter.

This is useful when a customer has forgotten their panel password or wants to replace the existing credentials without opening a support ticket.

LET'S ENCRYPT SSL SUPPORT

Products can optionally request Let's Encrypt SSL after the hosting account and domain are created. This option should be enabled only when the domain already resolves to the HestiaCP server.

The extension records the SSL result so the customer and administrator can see whether SSL was installed, not requested, or is still pending because the certificate request returned an error.

Customers can also request SSL installation later from the Paymenter client area.

SAFE PROVISIONING AND ROLLBACK

Provisioning errors should not leave incomplete accounts behind. If the HestiaCP user is created but the primary domain cannot be added, the extension attempts to delete the newly created user and reports the original domain error to Paymenter.

The extension also checks whether a Paymenter service already has a HestiaCP username before creating another account. This helps protect against accidental duplicate provisioning.

The username generator retries when HestiaCP reports that a generated username is already in use.

CLEAR CONNECTION AND API ERRORS

The extension converts common connection and HestiaCP API failures into practical messages for administrators.

Examples include:

  • Paymenter cannot connect to the HestiaCP API
  • The HestiaCP server denies the API request
  • The panel returns an unexpected HTTP response
  • The API returns an invalid response format
  • No hosting packages are returned
  • Required provisioning data is missing

These messages make it easier to identify incorrect URLs, firewall restrictions, access-key permissions, API configuration problems, and Paymenter server IP whitelist issues.

SECURE API AUTHENTICATION

The server configuration uses a HestiaCP access key and secret key. The secret key is stored as an encrypted Paymenter setting and is displayed as a protected password field in the administration panel.

The extension does not require customers to know which API credentials are being used. Customers only see their own hosting service information and permitted service actions.

SERVER CONFIGURATION

Administrators configure the following details in Paymenter:

  • HestiaCP panel URL
  • Access key
  • Secret key

A built-in Test Connection action verifies that Paymenter can reach the HestiaCP API and retrieve the available hosting packages.

SERVICE LIFECYCLE

The extension follows the Paymenter service lifecycle so hosting accounts remain aligned with customer services:

1. A customer orders a configured hosting product.
2. Paymenter collects the required domain.
3. The service is activated after the applicable billing workflow.
4. The HestiaCP account and domain are provisioned.
5. Account information appears in the customer's service page.
6. Paymenter can suspend, restore, upgrade, or terminate the connected account when required.

INSTALLATION

1. Upload the HestiaCP extension folder to the Paymenter extensions/Servers directory.
2. Confirm that the extension appears in Paymenter.
3. Open Admin > Servers.
4. Create a new HestiaCP server.
5. Enter the panel URL, access key, and secret key.
6. Use Test Connection to verify the API configuration.
7. Assign the HestiaCP server to a Paymenter hosting product.
8. Select the hosting package and domain-provisioning mode.
9. Choose whether Let's Encrypt should be requested automatically.
10. Save the product and complete a controlled test order before offering it publicly.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A working Paymenter installation with custom server-extension support
  • An existing HestiaCP server
  • HestiaCP API access enabled
  • A valid HestiaCP access key and secret key
  • Network access from the Paymenter server to the HestiaCP API
  • The Paymenter server IP allowed by the HestiaCP API configuration when IP restrictions are enabled
  • A valid HTTPS panel URL is strongly recommended

The HestiaCP API normally uses the panel port, commonly port 8083. Your actual URL and port depend on your HestiaCP installation and network configuration.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • This product is a Paymenter server extension. It does not install Paymenter or HestiaCP.
  • A working HestiaCP server must already exist before the extension is configured.
  • Automatic Let's Encrypt installation requires the domain to resolve correctly to the hosting server.
  • Hosting packages must exist in HestiaCP before they can be selected in Paymenter.
  • Always test the integration with a controlled product and test account before using it for production orders.
