Infinity Location Selector is a smart Paymenter extension designed for hosting providers who use Pterodactyl and want to offer a cleaner, more professional server location selection experience during checkout.
Instead of forcing customers to choose from a basic list of locations without any useful information, Infinity Location Selector automatically connects the selected Paymenter product to its assigned Pterodactyl server configuration, discovers the available server locations and nodes, checks whether those nodes are suitable for deployment, and displays the result in a modern interactive location card directly on the checkout page.
The extension is built around automation. In a normal Pterodactyl setup, the administrator does not need to manually configure node IP addresses, ping URLs, node IDs, or Pterodactyl location IDs. The extension automatically uses the Pterodactyl connection already assigned to the Paymenter product, reads the configured location data, detects available nodes and uses the public Wings endpoint of those nodes for latency testing.
Customers can then see useful information such as live latency, current availability and a recommended location before completing their order. If multiple locations are configured, the extension can automatically compare the measured latency and highlight the best available option with a Recommended badge.
Infinity Location Selector also takes server capacity into account. Before a location is marked as available, the extension can use Pterodactyl’s deployable-node system to verify whether a node is actually suitable for the current server configuration, including memory and disk requirements. This helps prevent customers from selecting a location where the requested server cannot currently be deployed.
The extension is designed to work safely with Pterodactyl. Sensitive credentials such as Pterodactyl Application API keys are never exposed to the customer’s browser. API requests and node discovery are handled server-side through Paymenter, while the browser only receives the information required to display the available locations and perform latency measurements.
The checkout interface replaces the normal location selector with responsive location cards that can display the country, location code, latency, connection quality, availability status and automatic recommendation. The design works well with modern dark hosting themes and provides customers with much more useful information than a standard dropdown or radio selector.
For hosting providers, the main advantage is that the system remains dynamic. If a new node is later added to an existing Pterodactyl location, Infinity Location Selector can automatically detect and use it without requiring the administrator to manually edit every product or configure a new ping endpoint. This makes the extension especially useful for growing hosting companies with multiple nodes and locations.
The setup process is intentionally simple. After installing and enabling the extension, the administrator only needs to select the Paymenter Config Option that is used for server locations. The Environment Variable of each location option should match the short code of the corresponding Pterodactyl location, for example de, nl, fi or us. The extension handles the remaining node discovery automatically.
Main features include automatic Pterodactyl location discovery, automatic node detection, deployable-node availability checks, live browser-based latency testing, smart location recommendations, automatic country flag detection, support for multiple nodes per location, responsive checkout cards, optional hiding of unavailable locations, safe server-side API communication and compatibility with products using different Pterodactyl server connections.
Infinity Location Selector is especially useful for Minecraft hosting, game server hosting, Discord bot hosting and other Pterodactyl-based hosting services where customers may have multiple server locations to choose from.
The extension is also designed with failure handling in mind. If location discovery is temporarily unavailable, it should not prevent the customer from completing checkout. The normal Paymenter location selector can remain available as a fallback, helping ensure that a temporary Pterodactyl API or node issue does not break the ordering process.
In short, Infinity Location Selector transforms a basic server location field into an intelligent location selection system. Customers get more transparency and can choose the location that is most suitable for them, while hosting providers get an automated system that works directly with their existing Paymenter and Pterodactyl infrastructure.
